3/6 - Where Is the Friend's House?
Wednesday (3/6), we’ll be screening Where Is the Friend's House? (1987) directed by Abbas Kiarostami. It’s the first in Kiarostami’s Koker trilogy, named after the northern Iranian village that where they all take place.
The lovely Meesh chose our movie this week:
Where Is The Friend’s House is a movie that has never left my mind. “An 8 year old boy must return his friend’s notebook he took by mistake, lest his friend be punished by expulsion from school.”
Its simplicity tugs deep inside you — making it sweet, stressful, funny, sad. I love a movie that allows you to see (and feel) the world through the eyes of a child.
Favorite movie review: “Uncut Gems for kids”
Where Is the Friend's House? will be playing at Working Room on Wednesday, March 6th (tomorrow!). We’ll also begin by watching short film Jumping (1984) by Osamu Tezuka. The doors will open at 7:30 and the movie at 8:00!
