1/14 - Out of the Blue
Tomorrow (1/14) we’ll be screening Out of the Blue from 1980, directed by (and starring) Dennis Hopper with Linda Manz and Sharon Farrell.
This film is part of our January screenings chosen by friend of the studio Connor Barrett:
Out of the Blue was a light at the end of the tunnel following Dennis Hopper's nine year period of being exiled from Hollywood after his second ambitious, but commercially unsuccessful feature, The Last Movie. It was originally titled CeBe and was attached to a different director before it fell into Dennis Hopper's hands and he renamed it Out of the Blue after he heard Neil Young's song "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" on the radio. Starring the legendary Linda Manz, Out of the Blue was very difficult to find in any reasonable resolution before it's 4K restoration last year and I can't think of a single movie I'd rather watch on my birthday.
"Well, I've never endorsed anything, even of my own, but if a masterpiece comes along, people should see it." - Jack Nicholson on Out of the Blue
Out of the Blue will be playing at the Working Room at 7:30 PM tomorrow (January 14). We’ll be gathering at 7:00 PM to hang before movie for Connor’s birthday!
RSVP is not required, but always appreciated. Email me if you need the address! PS, For those who haven’t joined for the more informal screenings, while we have chairs, most people choose to bring blankets and pillows to watch slumber party style on the floor.
Here’s the schedule for the other screenings of Connor’s Picks!
