11/1 - November
Wednesday (11/1) we’ll be screening Estonian fantasy-horror November (2017), written and directed by Rainer Sarnet.
Writer-director Rainer Sarnet’s earthbound fairy tale occupies a dreamscape somewhere between the teeming canvases of Brueghel and the existential agonies of Bela Tarr’s films. And it’s funny, with a sly salaciousness all its own. Based on a 2000 novel by Andrus Kivirähk that draws on the mythology of Estonia . . . this folk tale braids together the primordial and the divine in endlessly surprising ways. — Sheri Linden, Los Angeles Times
November will be playing at Working Room on Wednesday, November 1st. Doors will open at 7:30 PM and we’ll begin at 8:00 PM! RSVPs are appreciated, but not required. This will be the last movie in our regular screening series for a little bit. But, please join us for the True Self Film Fest on November 5th — RSVP here.
For our spooky screening series, we will be collecting donations to help fund a new bulb for our projector! Even a dollar would be so appreciated. Any leftover donation money will be used to stock the studio fridge. Donations can be sent to @Liza-Pittard on Venmo. ☆
