Tonight (1/1) we’ll be screening Love Liza from 2002, directed by Todd Louiso, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and written by Hoffman’s older brother and playwright Gordy Hoffman.

This film is part of our January screenings chosen by friend of the studio Connor Barrett:

Love Liza is one of the most brutal and honest depictions of grief I've ever seen on screen. Phillip Seymour Hoffman stars as a web designer in the wake of his wife's suicide who turns to gas huffing and RC planes. He gives a tragic, bizarre, and sometimes hilarious performance that really makes me wonder why this film seems to be so overlooked.

Love Liza will be playing at the Working Room at 7:30 PM tonight (January 1). RSVP is not required, but always appreciated. Email me if you need the address! PS, For those who haven’t joined for the more informal screenings, while we have chairs, most people choose to bring blankets and pillows to watch slumber party style on the floor.

Here’s the schedule for the other screenings of Connor’s Picks!
